The American rapper, now co-owner of the Welsh club, attended the Championship clash against Preston in an electric atmosphere

Famous American rapper Snoop Dogg made a sensational appearance Tuesday evening at the Swansea.com Stadium during his first official visit as co-owner of Swansea City AFC. The artist, a minority shareholder alongside American television host Martha Stewart and Croatian international Luka Modrić, took part in a night marked by strong fan enthusiasm.

Ahead of the Championship match against Preston North End, Snoop Dogg encouraged supporters to twirl white towels — a staple tradition in American sports. Welcomed through a guard of honour, dressed in the club’s all-white colours and wearing a jacket bearing the Swansea crest, dark sunglasses and a matching beanie, he completed a lap of honour to the cheers of an excited crowd.

Although Swansea conceded the opening goal, the team equalised in stoppage time, extending an already memorable evening. Speaking on the club’s official website, Snoop Dogg said: “I know it has been a long time coming, but I cannot wait to finally make my first visit to Swansea. From the moment we discussed me becoming an owner, I have been looking forward to being with you all at the Swansea.com Stadium.”

Club chief executive Tom Gorringe stressed that the rapper’s involvement goes beyond a publicity stunt. “It’s not just a gimmick; he understands what the club means to the city,” he told BBC Wales, also highlighting unprecedented commercial interest — even compared to the club’s Premier League years.

With 16 Grammy nominations and a three-decade career at the top of the music industry, Snoop Dogg continues to expand his influence, blending music, sport and business.
