The official launch of the Black History Month of Greater Manchester is held this Thursday, September 24 at Manchester Cathedral. The event is free, but participants must reserve their seats.
A cultural and community evening
The program will begin at 7 p.m. and the announced end time is 8:30 p.m., although some activities may continue later. Local officials, associations and cultural institutions will gather around shows celebrating the history and heritage of black communities.
The evening will also allow you to discover the regional calendar of Black History Month 2026. This will include activities organised in the various municipalities of Greater Manchester.

Manchester Cathedral is located on Victoria Street, M3 1SX. Exchange Square is the nearest tram stop, while Manchester Victoria is also nearby.
Admission is free, but prior registration is mandatory from the official page. Visitors with accessibility needs can consult the location information before travelling. The event is presented by the Caribbean & African Health Network, with the support of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority.
